OUR CHURCH

Our Church History

Faith Baptist Church was started in 1976 down on Shrimpers Row in Dulac, LA by Bro. Donald R. Way. The church stayed in the location on Shrimpers Row until the early 90's when they moved up the bayou to Grand Caillou Road in Houma, LA. Bro. Larry E. Brinker became pastor in 2003. In 2013, Bro. Richard A. Way came from Gainesville, TX, to become the pastor of Faith Baptist Church. In 2020, the church purchased a new property on Prospect Blvd to build a new building and unanimously voted to change the name to Heritage Baptist Church. Hurricane Ida hit in August of 2021 and our church building was destroyed. After Hurricane Ida, Heritage Baptist Church began meeting in a tent on the Prospect Blvd property. We met in the tent for over a year before purchasing our current property on Estate Drive in Houma, LA. We moved to our new building on Estate Drive in September 2022.  We praise the Lord for the faith that started the church, and the history of Heritage Baptist Church.
